I live in the northern suburbs of Melbourne with my partner, our daughter and two chickens.
I grew up in the former gold-mining town of Ballarat, the remote Victorian towns of Woomelang and Warracknabeal, suburban Melbourne and the stultifying desert climes of Mildura. All at different times, obviously.
I studied commerce at university but shortly after graduating I decided to become a writer instead of an accountant. Since making that decision I have worked as a hospital orderly, telephone directory proofreader, magazine dogsbody, bookseller, web designer and editor.
Among my interests are Doctor Who, pizza, Lego and Dungeons & Dragons. Readers may draw their own conclusions about my physiognomy, health, social skills and sexual aptitude.
